When to start feeding my puppy only 2 times per day?

My puppy was 3 months old when we got her. She’s going to be 4 months old in a few days and she’s 13 pounds. I was told by the shelter to feed her 3 meals a day until she turns 4 months old and then I should start feeding her only 2 times a day.

Im no expert, but I feel that its too soon to stop feeding her 3 meals a day. She’s still a growing puppy, doesn’t she need the nutrients and such?

She gets fed at 6:30am, 3:30pm and then lastly at 8:30pm.

Is it time to start feeding her only 2 meals per day?

I feed her wet (adult) and dry (puppy) Wellness mixed together.
I also wanted to add that I’m in the process of switching her completely to a wet food diet, I am gradually lessening the amount of dry food that I feed her.
Your Highness: Yes, thats what I meant. They told me to not feed her 3 times a day when she got to be 4 months old. They told me after 4 months old I should only be feeding her twice.

I have been a breeder for many, many years and have always had a lot of luck with my feeding regime. You should be feeding your puppy twice a day now. But the late night 8:30 feeding time needs to be moved back to about 4:00 or 5:00. The reason for this is because of the digestion. Feeding them that late will cause them to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night, and it is not her fault. By moving the feeding time back a few hours, you give her time to digest her food without making a mess in the middle of the night.

Feeding her a total wet food diet will cause loose stools. She needs to be on a good quality dry puppy food.
When you fix it, mix it with warm water and let it sit a bit to get soft. Stir it well and give it to her. She needs the nutrition in a good puppy food. Feed the recommended amount listed on the package for her weight. When she reaches the age of about 8 to 10 months, you may want to feed her a bit more in the A.M. feeding, and cut out the afternoon feeding. Give her a few treats, but again, the late day feeding will cause bathroom problems when you are wanting to sleep. Good luck
