Top Health Careers In Demand

Is it wise to become an Accounting major/Accountant during this recession?
I always thought that Accounting would lightly be affected by a recession until I watched the news.
A Business worker had lost his job and went to school to become a Registered Nurse.
Then they announced that a career in health care and education would be your best pick.
Is Accounting affected by the recession and at what magnitude? Would it be wise for me to continue studying this profession?
On the side note, it is said that Public Accountants are in high demand in the top 5 for 2008. How about a B.S. in Accounting?
Stick with it. Taxes still have to be prepared regardless of the ever changong economy. Also forensic accounting (ppl who un cook the cooked books so to speak) is in high demand, Go for your CPA, most ppl that have that are in the six figures.
