Dog related fund raising ideas?

Our town has a summer festival, and this year my vet and I are trying to put together a dog related fund raising attraction to benefit local shelters and rescues. We have so far come up with $10 donation for a bath, $15 with nail trim and wellness check, $5 wellness check and nail trim, $20 for a caricature sketch of your dog (provided by a local artist who is active in animal welfare) all proceeds going to rescues and shelters in the area, the funds being managed by the jaycees as a public service project. Individual owners of need will also be able to apply for financial aid for veterinary services. We would like some more ideas for events or services that can raise money. We have a donation station in mind for dog and cat food, also vet credites for free vaccinations with spay or neuter. ( My vet is also a dear friend with the heart of a dog…) Please share your ideas for a good cause.

A dog show just for pets, they don’t have to be purebred show dogs, could be a great fund raiser. Charge a small entry fee like maybe $5 or $10 and you could have them categorized by size. People would love it and it would give people who never have the opportunity a chance to show off their beloved pets. You could have different people in your local animal welfare group be the judges. I’ll bet you would have a great turnout. Give out ribbons for each class and maybe a small trophy for the best of show. Hope this was useful.
