Social Health Issues Articles

Are people of the Jain faith generally politically liberal or conservative on modern issues?
For example, gay rights, intermarriage with people outside their community, universal health care, social welfare, affirmative action, racial harmony, etc. PLEASE NO GUESSING, thanks. Please only answer if you actually know some Jains or you happen to be one. Please don’t make it look like there are anwers when there aren’t by asking what a Jain is (it’s a religion, there’s an article at Wikipedia), or telling me I won’t get a lot of answers by asking people not to guess (I know). Thanks.
Most of them are conservatives and stick to their strict structure of religious traditions.. I often see naked saints on the roads and being followed by their followers including women.
Jainis are strict in their food habits and never take food after sunset.
When a Jaini wishes to become a Sadhu, his/ her hair are required to be plucked one by one from the body.
What I like about them is that they are very simple and peace loving people. I have never heard of any Jaini involved in riots etc.
Inter-caste marriage is never welcomed in Jainis. They are though very affirmative about social welfare of their society.
They are like close knit family since they are minority.
