Personal Health Lesson Plans

I need a college student to help me with this one!!!?
I need a college student to see if this sounds good. the question is:
“What is the difference between professional ethics and personal values? And what happens when professional ethics and personal values collide?”
I answered: Professional Ethics are a specific set of rules that are either written, or unwritten. It governs specific situations and actions in whatever profession we are in, or perusing. For example: A teacher does not believe in the theory of evolution, but because he is a teacher in that field, he has to teach it because it’s in his lesson plan. Personal values are another set of rules that an individual puts upon himself/herself. It governs specific situations and actions in our personal lives. It helps decide what is right and what is not. For example: The teacher has a doctor’s appointment and must leave in order to assure his health. His personal values tell him that he cannot leave his kids alone. so to solve the problem, he hires a substitute.
Sound good?
change perusing for persuing…..i know its a just a typo but its important
change your example about the teacher. it doesnt quite click in with the message you are tying to send across and kinda throws the reader off. you may want to use the following example better:
“a group of coworkers are taking a business course together which the company is paying for and which the boss or employer instructed them to take in order to sharpen their skills. However, they were also instructed to return to work if on any given day the class happened to be dismissed early. One day, this happened and only one of the employees (Bobby) returned to work. The others just went about their ways. When Bobby returned to his office his boss asked him why he wasnt in class. Should Bobby cover up his coworkers to avoid them trouble or should Bobby tell the truth even if this means placing his coworkers in a risky situation?
The right thing to do would be to tell the truth. “The class was dismissed early therefore I returned. As for my coworkers, Im not sure where they are”. This is not only ethically correct in the work world, but morally right. Now Bobby is regarded as an honest and trustworthy employee by his superiors and is later on promoted as chief executive in the company. Honesty really is always the best policy”.
And remember personal values also influence our decisions at work and in everything we do no matter what the place or cicumstance. these may even be more powerful in influencing our decisions than work ethic .
your other example about the doctor is unclear. you may want to use this one instead:
” Mary works in a small supermarket in the neighborhood as a cashier. She is asked by her employer to charge an extra 0.10 cents to every item a customer buys. She may lose her job if she refuses. However, she knows that this is not only unethical professionally but something that goes against her values. Her conscience will not be in peace if she overcharges her clients. What will she do? Will she risk losing her job? Or will she hush her conscience and move on?”
This is a perfect example of a conflict between personal values and work ethic.
Or take for instance if you sell tobacco and lotto tickets at a gas station. How will you feel about that?
Your decision once again relies heavily on what is of more value to you: your personal values or work ethic even if this means conflicting your own beliefs?
