can my employer change my health care plan without my consent?
I live and work in new york city. i went to pharmacy to refill my prescription and was told my insurance doesn’t cover advair and arbutiol anymore and i would have to pay out of pocket for my medicine ($288.00) I emailed the agent at oxford and she told me i’m under a different plan and that plan doesn’t pay for my medicines and that i had to find alternative medications! Of course i was floored. so is it legal to change medical coverage without employee consent?
Absolutely. Employers do it all the time. Health insurance is not a right in the US. It’s a benefit offered by some employers. It can be changed or eliminated at any time.
