im having a end-of-research-paper celebration. what food should i make for Mary Edwards Walker?!?

Mary Edwards Walker was a nurse in the Civil War. In my History class we’re having a celebration for finishing our research paper. We have to bring in something that has to do with our topic. (poem, game, song, food, etc.) I want to bring in a food. What food should I make for her?

She was a Civil War nurse who had to fight her way up to the top to get noticed. At first, no one would give her the job of a surgeon for the war because she was a women.

She lectured on women’s health like tobacco, and liquor and another popular topic she spoke of was “Dress Reform”. She didn’t believe that women should have had to wear such “crazy” clothes.

Any ideas for a good food? PLEASE!
My celebration is soon! And I need to know.

confederate johnny cake is what everyone ate during civil war. done over a fire in cast iron pot you can cheat and heat the oven to 350 degrees mix these ingredients together to a stiff batter 2 cups of cornmeal 2/3 cup of milk 2 tablespoons vegetable oil 2 teaspoons of baking soda 1/2 teaspoon of salt divide into 8 even pieces. drop by spoon or use your hand onto a cookie sheet bake 20-25 minutes..remove and cool. pour butter and molasses on them. use a paper towel for drips a sweet civil war treat………molasses was like a vitamin tonic,a cure- all.people took a tablespoon everyday for health. did you know mary was the only woman in her medical class,and she graduated at 21.she was really ahead of her times. oh maybe you could bring a bowl of fruit too.
