International Public Health Careers
How do I obtain an International Studies degree as an RN?
I have already obtained a BSN (Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing) from a 4-yr college. After five years of nursing, I realized my passion is with International Studies. I would like to pursue a career with WHO or an international health organization (but not necessarily as a nurse). Do I apply as a Graduate Student to obtain my Masters in International Studies? Or do I have to go back to obtain my Bachelor’s in International Studies first?
Would a Masters in Public Health be a more realistic option?
Get an MPH. A B.A. in International Studies would be going backwards… especially considering a BSN is one of the highest-paying Bachelors degrees out there right now… and a degree in “International Studies” would be quite the opposite of that. An MPH could help you get a bigger salary, plus some of your BSN credits might meet prerequisites for the MPH degree.
