How cruel is it for us to refuse to contact so called “uncontacted tribes”?

RIO DE JANEIRO (Reuters) – Amazon Indians from one of the world’s last uncontacted tribes have been photographed from the air, with striking images released on Thursday showing them painted bright red and brandishing bows and arrows.

I was upset to read this news article. Here we have an “uncontacted” tribe of human beings, and yet no one ever thinks to, you know..MAKE CONTACT with them? How cruel is that?

Why should they have to believe they’re all alone in this world? Modern society’s great technological advances would do much to improve the lot of their people. Give them educations, build their community’s health through modern medicine, find out what natural resources they possess and expolit them. Make them part of the comsumer culture and eventually, build Starbucks, McDonalds and Wal-Marts in their remote villages.

Who are we to deny them the blessings of Education, Freedom and Prosperity?

The last thing they want is being contacted.

Those people are much happier than most of us so called ‘civilized’ people.
They are healthier and have far less stress.

Of course we could learn a lot from them, especially about Alternative Medicine.

There are still many tribes in Africa and Asia.
And many have been documented by Western people.
But ones the documentation was completed, they were left alone, as that is what they prefer

The only thing I would love to learn from those people is how to use the various herbs and weeds, as no one writes the usage for them down for our future generation, and the knowledge will be totally lost.
