Health Vaccine Effect
What are chances of experiencing side effects of a measles vaccine on adults?
I have to get a measles vaccine tomorrow that I thought I had gotten in my childhood. Anyway, I’m a 26 year old woman in decent health. Is there a high chance that I will get a fever or some other side effect after getting the immunization? Thanks.
If you are getting the combined measles, mumps, and rubella shot (MMR), which I’m sure you are, for adult women there is a very high risk of getting arthritis from the rubella portion of the shot. It even says this in the manufacturer’s package insert.
It is not worth it. There are ways around vaccine requirements. Perhaps you could get your blood tested to see if you already have immunity. Its called getting your titers checked.
