Flying a puppy from South Korea to the US…can you help?

Have a new pup and need to take her to the USA. Am getting conflicting information from my vet and the airlines. I don’t speak Korean. Probably doesn’t help matters.
From my research I think I need to get some documentation (in English) from the vet that she is in good health. I also understand that she has to have had the rabies vaccine 30 days prior to travel to avoid quarentine issues in the US. When I called United Airlines, they said that she could travel in a soft side case under my seat. She’s a small girl. The vet says she must travel in a hard-side case under the plane. Does anyone have any first hand info or can you tell me where to go for info? (I am up to date on the info on the airline websites, the CDC and the state I am landing in.)

I would not put her with the luggage. That could be very traumatic. Now that they allow them in the cabin, that would be better. It could be a hard crate if it is small enough to fit under the seat in front of you like a carry on.

She may need a sedative for that long of a trip. Also piddle pads… There won’t be a way to “take her out…” ; )

Definitely do the rabies vaccine within the recommended time to avoid the quarantine. Puppy time is bonding time. Isolation would NOT be good.
