What is the best puppy food I can buy for my border collie?

Hi there

Looking for some advice , I have been given my two 5month oldborder collies hills science plan as recommended by vets , however I am starting to wonder via reviews I have seen on web and puppies health ( they are a bit to skinny for my liking despite assurance from
Vet , producing 3-5 stools a day ,which I’m starting to realise again from web is not that good , they have had full worming treatment so can’t be worms making them too thin ) so basically I have been scouring the net for the best quality puppy food that I can buy in the uk .

So far though I’m not getting much luck as brands I have come across like blue buffalo etc are not eerily available in uk …

So my question to border collie owners is what is the best quality dry food you have come access and why ? Or if you have come across uk reviews of food could you post link ?

Many thanks in advance for your help … Just want to give pups best start I can.

My dogs were on Science Diet, which I thought was a great brand, as it was so expensive, but it is a worthless brand of junk.

Just a tip, Taste of the Wild is a brand at a cheap price, but 5 star quality everywhere! I suggest you look into it!

Here is how to determine if the puppy food is of quality:
Higher in meat-based protein
Higher in natural fats and oils
Lower in carbohydrates
Formulated from a named (non-generic) animal source
Free of animal or vegetable by-products
Free of artificial flavoring, coloring or preservatives
Complete in all essential vitamins and minerals

Look somewhere on the label for a statement similar to this: “Product formulated to meet the nutritional levels established by the AAFCO dog food nutrient profiles for growth”

Dogs should be on puppy food until they are about one year old. About two weeks before you are ready to switch to adult food, start mixing the adult and puppy together, gradually decreasing the puppy and increasing the adult. Doing that for roughly two weeks will be a much easier transition for the dog’s stomach than switching straight over.
