Caribean vacation in March?

I’d like to take a vacation with wife and 12 yr. old daughter in Caribbean or Costa Rica in mid-March (NOT durin public school vacation), but due to some health issues our ability to take the vaca is uncertain. Usually I book winter vacas many months in advance, but if I am going to take on this year I’ll need to do a “last minute” vacation.

How hard will it be to accomplish this on a last minute basis? What travel web site/travel agent would be best to help me with this? Thanks!

March is during “prime-time” in the Caribbean (mid-Dec to mid-Apr). However, that shouldn’t deter you from taking a wonderful vacation.

Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic is the best value in the Caribbean and all the resorts are “all-inclusive” – meaning your accommodations, food, beverages (including alcohol), activities, gratuities, and taxes. The weather is beautiful and the resorts and beaches are great.

Either contact a travel agent directly or go on line to www.applevacations.com and check-out everything. They have full details and pictures of all the hotels, and you can design your own package and switch the hotels in and out until you have exactly what you’re looking for. Then it allows you to send what you’ve created over to a local travel agent to take care of everything for you at no additional cost! Apple always has “last minute specials”.

Don’t obsess over the fact that you need to book at the last minute – a lot of people do.
