Why is the deductible for health insurance so much higher now for the same price?

My kid’s insurance went from $118 a month with a $2500 deductible to $190 a month. Now to remain at the same monthly payment I have to go to a $10000 deductible which is meaningless because I could never come up with that much money.

Then because of the new law, I can’t drop the policy and get another without both of us on it because a minor can’t have their own policy anymore.
I don’t buy it through an employer because I am my employer.

Talk to another company, in CA one plan increased its premium three hundred percent last year, long before Obama’s plan even came up for a vote.

When the talked about the costs of insurance going up that’s what they meant. When I pointed out three years ago that the cost of insuring two healthy people here was twelve thousand dollars people thought I was making it up. The law has only begun to take effect and its not the plan Obama wanted, its the Republican plan which gives more power to the insurance companies and in return they can’t drop you if you get sick.
Isn’t that wonderful?
We should have had a public option, independent of private insurers who had already priced themselves out of the market for the elderly forty years ago, now they are going to do it for the younger consumer and remember that the next time starts telling you about Obamacare and the Democrats, because this mess is not what was wanted or needed, it was just what they could get past the Republicans.

Socialism is going to look like a good thing by the time they get around to initiating the public option we still are going to be needing to care for our own.
