Health Insurance Deductible Explanation

Does anyone know how much impact high blood pressure has on a health insurance premium?

I recently had to purchase health insurance because the company my group insurance was with went bankrupt. We only got about 6 days notice before the coverage ended, and I looked online and applied for a policy. It’s a $5000 deductible HSA plan because I was rejected with no explanation for a policy somewhat in line with the group policy I had through the group coverage. The rate that I ended up with for the HSA policy was nearly double what was shown online when I checked policies and prices. I subsequently learned that the rate shown is the “tier 1″ rate, or lowest rate, and that I was going to have to pay the ‘tier 4″ rate, the highest rate. Anyone have any idea what affects these rates and how much? I sent the company a letter asking and either never got an answer or if what they sent me shortly after I asked was supposed to be their answer to my question it certainly didn’t answer it.

there are allot of factors.
for you to be rated a tier 4, you must have more then high blood pressure showing as a condtion in your medical records.

the insurance company has to send you a detailed letter explaining why you were declined.

you should review your medical records and see what is listed in there.
