How much money am I entitled to for child suppport?

I live with both of my grandparents. My grandmother has a job that makes around $35,000 a year and my grandfather is unemployed . My grandparents have full custody of me also. My father is a graphic designer that makes around $40,000 a year. My mother is unemployed and she lives 3,000 miles away in California. Neither of my parents pay for anything for me and I do not have health insurance. I am 15 years old and I’m tired of being yelled at about how much money I cost my grandparents. How much money should my parents be paying for child suppport?

Well your grandparents should not yell at about how much money you cost them considering they have full custody of you. That was part of getting custody. But this is providing that you appreciate what they do for you and you do your part to help out. As far as child support goes you grandparents should be keeping track Of what it costs to raise you. Best way would be to take $35,000 divide that by three which would be about $11700/ year since you grandparent have custody of you it should be divide by 3 but your grandparents portion should be waived considering they take care of you. So then $11700 / year by 2 is $5850 that each parent should pay /year. Then to figure medical insurance if you father has a good job that has health insurance he should carry you on it and your mother should have to pay for half of that. Now this is not completely accurate figures but they should have to split the cost of living for you until you are 18-24 if in college. Now this is provided that you stay in school until then. Because once you quit school you should have to fend for yourself. When you spread your wings you have to learn to fly.
