How to improve health of color treated hair?

I have been coloring my hair for about 8 years. Natural brunette and I have been getting mainly blond highlights, not full color. My ends are fried! I cut off 8 inches back in December and it seemed pretty healthy. I have since only highlighted it once and the ends are a disaster again. I use only proffesional hair products, specifically for color treated hair but it is still a mess. How do I get my hair looking and feeling better without stopping the highlighting?? Thanks

Besides using shampoo and conditioner for color treated hair you probably need to be doing deep conditioning at least once a month either at home or in the salon. Redken has a great product called rescue force and you can use it daily and/or as a conditioning treatment. You also could have you stylist not pull the bleach through you ends when highlighting b/c the repetitive application is just making your ends weaker. If you blow-dry daily try not to. If your hair is also fine in texture that could be your problem too. All this combined is probably making your ends nasty.
