Health Gap Insurance

health insurance coverage overlap?
I recently switched health insurance plans and made a typo on the termination date for the first one. The new plan definitely did say “I certify that I am not covered by another health insurance plan” or something to that effect.
Talking about a month and a half gap here. Is this a problem? I didn’t put any claims through.
Not, it’s not a problem, except that you’re paying for coverage you’re not using.
I’d contact the first company and let them know that you made the typo and ask them to change the cancellation date to the correct date. If you supply a copy of the policy that replaced theirs it should not be a problem.
And you won’t get into trouble with the new insurer. If it ever became an issue (which it likely would not) you can easily explain it away, especially if you keep a copy of the letter to the prior company.
