Toddler has brown stool but red thick color in stool?

My 27 month old had a bowel movement about 30 min. ago and when I went to change his diaper he was not constipated or straining at the time but he had a soft bowel movement with a thick red color inside. (sorry for giving to much info but the red looked like pieces of raw meat) I called his Pedi and she said to watch out for him in the next 24-48 hours. I am nervous and scared he isn’t complaining, no fever, or anything. I told her he ate watermelon last night but she ignored that fact. He is healthy no health problems what could it be has anyone had this happen to their child before? help me i’m in desperate need for some advice thanks

i got really worried about my oldest daughter when she was like 2. I took her to the ER, because it was the weekend. They told me small kids have a harder time breaking down artifical coloring. So that could be the reason, and if you wanted to you could take a sample of the stool in and they run a fast test on it to see if it is blood or not
