can someone please help me figure out what i should do?

I am planning to move to california this summer, I have a new job there that would be good for my career. THe problem is my mother and siblings. THey don’t want me to leave NJ. They lay the guilt trip on me by asking” how can I leave my elderly mother” (she is in her 80s). But currently, in NJ where I am living I have no job and the lifestyle is better in California than in NJ. My husbands health is not that good living here (NJ). But my siblings get really mad and said they would disown me if I moved. I am really hurt by this. I think they don’t want me to move because they rely on me to take care of our elderly mother but she two sons that don’t do anything for her ever. They can both more than well afford to help out our mom. They just don’t want to be bothered. It is putting me in a bad situation and I feel torn. any helpful advise?

Go. you need to sit them down and explain that you are moving and your not asking there permission. Tell them that you love them very much and you will always be there for them (maybe not always in physical form by maybe by phone). You need to do what is best for you and your husband and they should want that for you
