Health And Physical Assessment In Nursing
Nursing career or Psych career?
I’m in a RN program and if I complete that I plan to get my masters to be a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. However, from being in this program I’m realizing that nursing doesn’t focus as much on the actual diseases and conditions but just certain issues that come along with it like impaired skin integrity,pain, and constipation. Also during practice assessments I find myself wanting to focus more on the persons feelings instead of physical issues. Also I’ve been interested in psychology for quite a while and I would want to be a psychologist if I pursued the pyschology route. So i dunno what to do since both will require the same amount of school and they have similar salaries and can have their own practices. I know with both I can work in Psychology but do you think I should go for the nursing route or mainly focus on a masters in psych?
if you can handle listening to people’s problems and enjoy that then do psych….you do need at least a master’s degree for that I believe
