Are you For or Against animals on medication for the purposes of helping them?
A friend of mine has their dog on “puppy prozac” due to its overly aggressive behaviour. I’m not an animal behaviourlist but I feel that proper training methods are not properly incorporated in the dogs routine. Furthermore, I don’t advocate drugs for health reasons with exhausting other avenue’s first.
What are you reasons For or Against this?
It is a double edged sword. Many owners don’t use proper methods or train long enough & just want a quick fix. However there are plenty of badly bred dogs that do benefit from a medication in addition to training. It is nothing I would recommend for a long time use but for a short period along with the proper training. It comes down to the individual dog & their needs.
