What’s wrong with Hamilton’s view of government?
I hear a lot of right wing wack jobs claiming that liberals think that government’s purpose is to make citizens dependent on it.
Nothing could be farther from the truth. We are not suppose to suck government’s teat, but the experiment created by our founding fathers was that free people were able to govern themselves and we citizens can use government for our benefit and not just for those in the ruling class.
Government can be used as a tool for the people. The Eire Canal, railroads, Hoover Dam, interstate highway system, space programs, the internet, science and health developments, etc. are all examples of how government can be used for the benefit of all of us.
Funny! You think lefites would allow the Erie Canal, Hoover Dam or the highway systel to be built today?! Ha!
Hamilton had many bad ideas, but you probably knew that.
