Green Health Drinks Ingredients
Sencha, made by Tetley, a true green tea?
Hello everyone,
Thanks for taking the time to read my question, and answer. I was wondering about a tea made by the Tetley brand, that of the Japanese line of teas, Sencha. It says on the ingredient list, “pure sencha green tea”. Looking on wikipedia I have found that sencha green tea is not made with the tea leaves, but with stems, roots, etc of the camilla sinensis (sp?) plant.
Would this product be an “imposter”? Or am I likely confused with another tea, and this is likely a case of mistaken identity on my part. The tea tastes good, mind you, but I am also drinking for health benefits.

I happen to love this particular tea and drink it every day, for the taste and the antioxidents.
Tea is real tea as long as it is made from some part of the camilla sinensis plant – it doesn’t have to be the leaves! Sometimes the roots are even more potent, especially for health benefits.
