Dog Health Questions And Answers
Dog health question (please only answer if you are a knowledgeable source)?
We have a standard Poodle who is 7. He seems to be fine at home and on walks. He plays with toys, and is lively around new people. He seems to enjoy running for short periods of time as well.
However, whenever we bring him back from the groomers, he doesn’t seem to be able to walk normally for the next day or two. He breathes very heavily and will collapse in the middle of the street (lie down). When he does walk, he seems to have trouble doing so.
This usually goes away a day or so after we bring him back from the groomers.
What do you think is wrong? Please help!
We have tried taking him to more than groomer, and he does the same thing. This has only been happening within the past year.
The vet says its because he’s overheated, but our dog’s reaction seems to severe to be simply overheated.
This is NOT normal by any means. Are they sedating your dog to groom? It would be best to try another groomer and see if the results are the same. If not, you will know that the groomer you are using is not following procedures.
If this is an anxiety issue, stay with the dog when groomed and see if this behavior changes.
