i need college advice.. somebody please help me..?

hi.. i’m a student from the philippines.. i want to pursue a medical career so i’m lookin around for a good school and pre med course.. i read at the la salle-taft website that they offer the BS Human Biology, a 2 year pre-med course followed by 4 years Medicine at the De la salle health science institute..

somebody answer me: is this course any good? and what do med students actually do in med school? like, do they go on shifts at hospitals and actually have hands on experience at hospitals during college?

please help. thanks in advance
is it better if i go for BS biology (4years) or human biology (2years)? bs biology can lead to a career and medicine or a career in the academe and human bio only leads to a med career..(it says so on the website) btw, i don’t plan on becoming a teacher

Well your first few years will be a lot of text book work, a lot of lectures and a lot of studying and tests. Your biology labs will start probably with bacteria or plant life and then you’ll work up to dissecting animals that have died of natural causes and been prepared so that they can be studied safely. Starting with small animals and working up to larger animals. During your sixth year, probably, you will get to dissect a human corpses and perhaps even shadow a doctor – no work yourself but watching an experienced doctor work. After your six years of dissection and a lot of textbook work, you will get to do an internship in a hospital which will probably last anywhere from 12-24 months. No real hospital work happens until after 6 years of University have been completed.
