Community And Public Health Careers
How can I be competitive for pharmacy school????
I will be a freshman in college this fall, and I want to apply to pharmacy school my second year (or when I finish the pre-requistes). The pharmacy school has a 18% acceptance rate so it’s tough! They of course want high pcat scores and grades, but also extracurricular things. What should I start doing NOW to become a competitive candidate for pharmacy school? I’m a very hardworking student so I’m up for it. I’ve done an internship too so I’m not simply jumping into the career choice. When would you suggest becoming a pharmacy tech and taking the training to become one? Would you suggest working only in the summer or winter breaks as a pharmacy technician? Do they consider other extracurriculars? I’m planning on getting involved in other related clubs and I enjoy doing community service. Also, I may major in a science or public health. I know I want to minor in spanish. Does being trilingual put me at an advantage? Lots of questions! Help!
If you really want to be a Pharmacist, have a Plan B. Be willing to go to another college. Good luck.
