What does a Medieval Cardinal do and what is their lifestyle? ?

I am in grade 8 and I need help with this project on Medieval roles for Social Studies. I picked the cardinal. I need to know what does a cardinal do as a job and what is his income and responsibilities. I also need to know what his home, clothing, diet, values, health and vulnerabilities, activities (Entertainment) are in medieval times. I am not asking you to do my homework for me, but any information would be great. Good links to site will be very helpful. Thank you.
Also, thier lifestyles, if there isnt that much information on it, which i couldnt find either. What other people in medieval times like a biship or a pope was a cardinals life style samiler to?
